Dr. Michael Guthrie is an experienced Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon well-known for his patient centered care approach. His peers and patients highly regard him for his caring and pleasant demeanor. He holds advanced training and special interest in implant surgery, bone grafting procedures, extractions, and preprosthetic surgery.
Dr. Guthrie completed his General Practice Residency at the VA Medical Center in Washington, DC. He then pursued his Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery training at Howard University Medical Center, where he received the outstanding surgical resident award upon completion in 1996.
To stay up-to-date with the latest trends and techniques in the field of dentistry, Dr. Guthrie regularly attends conferences and educational courses. He participates in the American Society of Dental Anesthesiology Annual General Anesthesia Conference and the Nobel Biocare Implant Continuum for his continuing education, ensuring that he provides his patients with the best dental outcomes.
Outside of the dental office, Dr. Guthrie is well-rooted in his community and supports various philanthropic causes such as the Make-A-Wish Foundation and is a founding member of the Legacy Foundation, an organization dedicated to global world health.
When he’s not busy transforming smiles and giving back, Dr. Guthrie enjoys cooking, traveling, playing sports, and listening to good music. Additionally, he enjoys unwinding and exploring everything Chicago offers, from fine dining to exploring the Lakeshore beauty.
